Pricing structure

What factors determine the price of Finsket clothing?

Sustainability is in our backbone, and we tell it like it is: why Finsket clothing costs what it does. Let’s take the Akseli t-shirt as an example.

For an Akseli t-shirt sold in Finland, 97.2% of the price stays in Finland. For comparison, a t-shirt produced abroad by a Finnish brand and sold in Finland leaves about 80% in Finland.

Akseli t-shirt price breakdown:

Production costs – 20% This includes the cost of materials and the labor for sewing in Finland. All Finsket clothing is sewn in our own factory in Kokkola. Most of Finsket’s fabrics are made in Lithuania. We only use GOTS-certified organic cotton in production.

Brand – 21% This includes design salaries, photoshoots, and marketing materials. The brand portion also covers other costs such as rent and insurance, machinery, equipment, software, and financial administration.

Retailer – 40% This includes fixed costs for online and/or brick-and-mortar stores, staff salaries, and marketing expenses.

Value-added tax – 19% The Finnish VAT of 25.5% is added to the sale price of the t-shirt.

Finnish quality comes at a price. But quality endures—both in daily wear and under careful scrutiny.
